Who I am

My name is Lucas Wong, a skiier from Hong Kong. Skiing has always been my greatest passion - it ignites a fire within me, a blend of personal thrill and fierce competition. I began this exhilarating journey at just three years old and competed since twelve, each run feeling like a dance with the mountain where my skills shine.

Yet being on the Hong Kong China Team and Vice Captain of the Harrow Team has transformed this solitary pursuit into something greater. It is not just about personal bests; it’s about representing my country alongside dedicated teammates who share my passion.

Together we push each other to strive, celebrate victories, and learn from DNF’s as one team - this is why I love the sport and aspire to compete at the collegiate level.

Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) - Tokyo, Japan

Summer internship at MOL’s GX Fuel Division; GX Fuel is the core decision-making unit for MOL’s future fuel source strategies in compliance with their 2035 Blue Action strategy & goal of Carbon Neutral by 2050.
Monitored routes and shipment type; worked in the marine safety center, gaining an understanding of how weather conditions impact shipping channels.
Researched and presented to the team various fuel power pros and cons with different ship categories including onboard ship operational experience.
Researched pathways to achieving net zero in the shipping industry, presenting personal insights (like Porsche’s use of E-methanol) for how this can be met.

Interned in the Webank Artificial Intelligence Team
Researched and presented on Artificial Intelligence usage among the world's top financial institutions, determining ways banks could improve customer service through automation.
Delivered presentations on data for larger institutions like JP Morgan and HSBC and their use of AI for key tasks like fraud detection and marketing decisions.

Interned in HR, Sales, Racing, and Sustainability Departments, gaining insights into each separate role and assisting in production tasks.
Dissected and created a pair of skis from the ground up.
Provided user input to the design team from the perspective of the user.
Discussed and analyzed environmentally-friendly material for ski making.
